Creating Color Boards

I am taking production design this semester, which is a whole other post on it's own, but I have started gathering a vast library of color boards, and I love creating them. They are so handy if you are looking to find a color palette for a room or using them on an interior design textile board as well. They are fun to create and really make you think about the colors you are using, how they work together, and the type of spaces you want to create around yourself. Break down what makes you happy the most in the space and use those elements all around the house!

Slackline or Slacklining...........what is it?

I was intrigued as I watched the super bowl half time show as to exactly what the guy hopping around on the rope was doing. It sort of looked like he was a tight rope walker but then I noted the more he moved around that he seemed to be doing all of this on a rubber band like cord. I made a mental note to later google whatever this was called so I could find out more on the subject. I didn't think of it again until I happened to see the nightly news and they did a feature on SLACKLINING, apparently that is the name of this new........sport?

The more I read, the more I learned that slacklining is the sport of walking a thin nylon rope between two points, and that a lot of people do it for athletic reasons and some do it for exercise. EXERCISE........ could this be the new exercise craze? Can you imagine the leg and all over body workout you could get from hopping around on a rope? I say that lightly, I am sure it takes much more skill than just hopping around but it could be a great butt workout and that is enough for me to try it!

This guy has a lot of guts to do this over a canyon, I think the only way I would ever try it is over a swimming pool!

Cutest designer dog bed I have ever seen!

I have three maltese and I am always on the lookout for new items for them, from toys to blankets. Although they don't sleep in dog beds, they sleep with me, I saw this adorable dog house/bed and I nearly feel over! An mini air stream trailer that is a dog house/bed..........too cute! I found it on pinterest but don't know where it is sold.

Black and White stripe cake!

I come across a lot of cake designs that I think are cute, some are elaborate and way over the top, and some are pure art. When I came across this cake I fell in love, why didn't someone design a cake like this long ago. I love black and white, simple design while being chic and fun at the same time, usually hard to find. This cake embodies all of those things, I found it on pinterest and couldn't stop starring, it's just so perfect. So nect birthday I have this cake is a must, even if I have to make it myself.........LOL!

Pink Cake!

I found a picture of this pink cake and I fell in love with the light and frilly way it is decorated and the cupcakes are an added bonus!!

Butterfly Birthday Party Ideas

My grandmother has another birthday coming up this summer and I wanted to start planning early this year, she has always loved butterflies and I think this is the year we should throw her an amazing butterfly themed birthday party. I have found a lot of inspiration for butterfly themed birthday parties, but they are mostly for kids. However, it did give me some idea's on how to change up the butterfly kids party and make it more adult friendly. Here are some of the party ideas that I found, I hope they inspire you as well!

These Butterfly cupcake toppers are a must have! Can you believe they are made out of sugar and are completely edible? I found them on etsy, simply adorable.

Valentines Handmade Cards

I love card making and I love valentines day as well, so it's no secret that I would love making my own Valentine handmade cards this year. I found a ton of cute inspiration pictures and I think I have an idea of the direction I want to go in, use lot's of pink glitter and unique folding techniques that will reveal a surprise inside!
