At the moment my new favorite cookbook is Lydia's Italy, she is an amazing cook and has some positively divine recipes. I especially love her recipe for Prosciutto di parma purses, you stuff large slices of prosciutto with parmesan cheese and tie them off with a long chive, then brown in a skillet. I promise they are delicious!
Another favorite is her sweet onion gratinate, you take a thin layer of onions top it off with a layer of parmigiano-reggiano and bake in the oven. She also adds a thin layer of bread under the onions and it gets crunchy in the oven and makes it easier to serve, so yummy.
