Making homemade strawberry jam and learning from a master.

My 87 year old grandmother taught me how to make strawberry jam tonight, what a delight that was!
I got 3 pints of fresh Plant City strawberries, took the stems off and placed in a large pot.
We then added sugar and pectin, and let them boil down until they became sticky.
She then poured them into ball canning jars and set them aside until the lids popped and sealed.
 Voila!

It was much easier than I thought it would be and only took about an hour!

Cute necklace alert....Keep Calm and Carry On!

I am always on the lookout for unique jewelry, I normally like simple, clean lines when I pick out jewelry, but sometimes I enjoy wearing cute, fun, and whimsical pieces, especially some finds from etsy. I had to share this etsy shop , they make the cutest "Keep Calm and Carry On' necklaces I have ever seen. Maybe it's the candy colors but I really want one in every color, they are only $19.99!

Cutest cake I have ever seen...yes, it's a DOG!

This might be the cutest cake I have ever seen, this cake baker is a true artist and designer. It's just amazing, I really thought it was this cute little dog when I saw the picture, but then to find out it was a cake made it equally delicious! Check out the link to their site below, they have so many amazing designs available.

GCB production design love!

I don't know about you guy's but I am loving the new ABC show GCB. Growing up in the south I can fully understand the true meaning of "GCB". I especially loved the production design for the show, elegant, yet modern interiors, mixed with down home southern accents, makes this one a must see. The production design was created by Denny Dugally and set decorator Bryan Venegas, they come from the same team that designed the sets for ABC's Brother's and Sister's, another show that I enjoyed watching, Sally Field's home in Pasadena was to die for.

Carlene's bedroom swoon - I love the dark eggplant walls & chairs, it really works well in a room that size.

Exercise and Nutrition Helper

I am trying my best to get into better shape and I love the idea of this website that I came across, especially if you are new to exercise and lifting light weights. It is an interactive application where you can click on various parts on the the woman's body, click on it, and it will take you to a page of exercise's that target that specific part of the body. All the exercise's can be done from home and I think that is a major plus for a lot of people who don't like the gym atmosphere or just enjoy working out at home on your own schedule!

March 1st already..............?

Wow, I can't believe how fast fall and winter have gone by this year. I can't lie, living in Florida does make that time pass faster, but come on, I didn't even have time to wear my pink gingham flannel PJ's this year, what's up with that. I went outside today and while it was 82 degrees, I couldn't believe that pollen rods where already dropping from the tree's and I was surrounded by new blooms! In the spirit of Spring being just around the corner, here are a few of my favorite spring pictures for this year.

I love hydrangea wreaths, they are so pretty, and they have a simple, classic feel to them.

These pink, white, and yellow peonies are just beautiful, can't get enough of them! I think I am going to give my mother peonies this year for Mother's Day!
